Kids would just be pepper spraying everyone all the time. Teach your kid to throw a punch.

Also theres a high chance that the pepper spray will get into their eyes too. Sprays are messy like that.

Honestly it's just best to teach a kid how to throw a punch or kick and bite. Better to teach them how to avoid conflict all together but that isnt a perfect strategy just to avoid danger.

They should teach the kid something like boxing, judo or something like karate

Tae Kwon Do has a lot of McDojos as it is a pretty popular martial arts, so be carefull which dojo you choose

No, the teachers should be equipped with pepper spray to use on the children.

Against predators and traffickers, yes. But bullies? Sorry but the kid needs to learn to throw a punch like what SmokeEverything said. If your kid keeps defending themself even if they lose the fights, the bullies will eventually stop. I never bullied or know how a bully thinks but I’m sure they want easy targets, not brave ones that make shit hard for them.

No because the bullies will spray the nerds and say the nerds were bullies

I know it doesn’t seem like it but the world has never been safer than it is today. With smartphones, cameras everywhere, smarter children, the risk of your kids being attacked are very slim. Think of the 80s and 90s, the murder rate was like 80% higher than it is now. Crime has gone down. When you were a kid you grew up in one of the most dangerous periods of time and just think of how much freedom you had. Your kids will handle the world just fine without pepper spray

I grew up in Houston, Texas, in the 1970s and I don't know why, but when I read your comment I remembered that Houston had a gay serial killer called the Candyman, he lived in Heights.

I for one couldn't help but imagining the spray making it to the hands of the bullies themselves. That'd make for a terrible scenario.

Yes if they also teach their kids how and when to use it properly.
Unfortunately in my country it's illegal for some reason but you can put together similar sprays yourself and if one day I have a daughter I wouldn't mind equipping her with it.

No, kids are stupid. They'd just pepper spray themselves and friends. Also kids should learn to face bullies on their own, without any help. Beat the bully up and bully them for a bit to teach them how it feels.

NOTE: Doing so does require you to be stronger and more capable than said bully, training and possibly taking some boxing, or karate lessons is in order. Just don't make my mistake and chose taekwondo... 4 months of bowing down, slowly stretching out and saying nonsensical Chinese words and more bowing down.
My dad taught me more about fighting back than that bullshit class.

No, it's the parents that think their child is the innocent little angel that would do no wrong, that would arm their child with it. They would just be arming the bully. Now arming your 14 or 15 yo daughter going to the movie, with the right training, yes.

For school? Hell no, that's just gonna be a mess, but when going out anywhere else (referring to teens mostly)? Definitely yes, last thing a parent might want is anyone putting a hand on their kids.

I've seen educated people use those things upwind. Cant imagineva child would fare better not to mention a good way to get their ass beat. Just take them to a self defense class so that way they'll always be able to defend themselves without reliant on a Mediocre tool and local laws
