Should more parents be willing to adopt?

  • That sounds very nice, but one likes to feel obligated. I'm an adult, buy I certainly don't want to be obligated to adopt a child. I can't afford a second Siamese cat or a Sheltie dog so I'm certainly not going to take responsibility for a young human who's not own flesh and blood.

Sorry, can't pretend. I'm more an animal person than a people person.

    • We should feed all of the homeless children to all of the homeless cats of the world.

    • I said "Adults with the means"
I'm also an adult who cannot afford children, but plenty of people can.

      • ... but even if I had means I might not necessarily have the inclination to raise a child that isn't mine. People cannot be forced to do something against their will even if it's a so called nice or ideal thing.

If I had the means I'd want more animals and children of my own who carried my own DNA, and that of my partner. I feel what I feel, and no one can force me to feel otherwise.
