I think how much you protect your sibling depends on how your relationship not gender. She's an older sister worried about her younger brother it's the same as if an older brother was worried about his younger sister same feelings, gender really doesn't make a difference. Though I think she's being a little over protective, but I don't think it's a reason to call her names and say she's an idiot(not you specifically it's everyone commenting in genral).

I didn't think I was "cock blocking" him, I assumed I was being worried about him- from what he told me the texts said, it seemed to me that this girl just wanted a boyfriend; that she didn't care who it was, she just wanted one, even if it was my socially awkward brother. He said if that really was the case, he'd "learn from his mistakes", which is BS, cause he never learns from his mistakes :/
The whole thing made me wary to begin with because my brother had never once in his life was interested in a girl, or was interested in going out with someone to begin with.
How dare I show even the slightest bit of concern for my younger sibling! Guess I shouldn't ever do it again :/

I said if it was a younger sister. And then I specified if YOU were an older brother it would make alot more sense.
