Should i tell her i love her

My uncle died two weeks ago and we both had a really close relationship and he died single at the age of 63. About a week before he died he told me he has been in love with the same girl for 52 years but he never told her. She has three kids now and has been happily married for 40 years. Well after he told me this it made me think if the same thing happened to me. Not telling my best friend that ive loved her pretty much i since layed eyes on her. We dated back in the tenth grade but ended quickly after i told her i loved her. Well she is about to leave for college again and idk what do ? ......

Tell her 80
Dont 6

She might have commitment issues so I woudn't say "I love you" yet. I would tell the story of you're uncle and tell her you like her verry much.

Tell her for your own sake, but don't expect something magical to happen.

I'm assuming you're both in the middle of your senior year of high school? So you told her, what, one and a half years ago and she rejected you? And now you're platonic friends. It's not particularly likely that much will change, but like I said, tell her for your own sake.

If I were you, I'd tell her the story of your uncle as a reason you're telling her now. It's quite moving.

I agree with EllaG..Tell her the story, and tell her that you can't loose her like your uncle lost the girl he loved. Wait a while see how she takes that, than after a while of dating..pop the "L" word! (: Make sure to tell us how it goes..best of luck!

She could've thought she was too young for love at the time. Go for it, but make sure you're prepared for either answer.

  • You should definately tell her for your own sake. I'm not promising anything, but at least you won't live life thinking "what if?"

Go for it and good luck ;)

Yeah like what everybody else is saying tell her a long with the story of your uncle; she would most likely not think anything less of you since you two have been friends for a long time. But if she tells you she only thinks of you as a friend still, don't tell her a third time because if her feelings were to ever change in the future yet it would be her turn. Third time isn't always a charm.
