Should i take it as a compliment or an offense?

When a girl calls me cute, should i take it as a compliment or an offense? It has happened to me multiple times before. The problem is that I don't know if I should take it as a compliment or as an offense because I feel that the idea that I'm cute kinda violates my masculinity.

    Why is masculinity so fragile

    Definitely a compliment, enjoy it.

Unless they get pushy or creepy, then it's less cool. But nothing wrong with being cute. :)

Man what's wrong with you? You want to get offended because a girl says you're cute? That's a compliment. If she says you're an ugly prick than that something to get offended over

I use cute for people that are attractive but not someone I want to be with.

If I am into a guy or girl I usually say hot.

I don't think they are trying to be offensive but cute to me is like a friend or brother.

I use cute as a more polite way of saying hot or sexy. Usually if I don't know the person well or if I don't want to say it to their face.

It's obviously a compliment. I've never been called anything by random girls.

  • Depends on context. Nearly every time if not every time I've been called cute it's by someone who thought I was attractive physically.

I've noticed it with women from my teens to about 23 call guys cute when they find them attractive.

Not heard it much from older wome. But who knows.

Take it as a compliment, iI'd say.

It's a younger person compliment I reckon: as an older woman I was amazed to hear it being used about a tv actor who is one of those dark brooding sexy types until it was explained to me that cute now means hot. To me it has barbie doll type connotations, but that's how language changes and evolves - sometimes it's hard to keep up!
