my boyfriend doesn't like yaoi. ok, that's not the problem, i dont mind, everyone has they're own tastes. The problem is that he doesn't seem to accept and respect the fact that I like. I dont have a problem with yaoi, the same way I don't have a problem if he likes hentai, yuri, porn or whatever. (he only likes porn, though).
In real life he also says that he don't like lesbians and homos. I've tried to open a bit his mind, but I failed and I know he will not gonna change his idea. I'm ok with that, he has his beliefs. But I wish he did not mind that I watch that sort of things. I also like lesbian porn and he don't really cares because "porn is different". we have discussed several times because he dont want me to watch yaoi..I know that if I never watch yaoi again, the problems will end up probably. but I just cant understand why I have to make an effort to please him? Why can't he respect me and my privacy/tastes? advice and opinions please , thank you

    Do what you want. You are not forcing him to watch. It should be nobodys concern to care what others think.

    If the person I was with whined about and tried to control the kind of porn I watch, I'd send their ass packing. What one does in their private time is their business and theirs alone.

      To be honest, I think yaoi is hot, but it's not like I masturbate while watching it. I just enjoy watch it sometimes.

      I'll tell you the whole thing:
      It all started because I watch anime frequently. I like various genres (not related to sexual things) like romance, action, supernatural etc. When I discovered yaoi (the only sexual anime genre I like), I commented to him that I had discovered this new genre and enjoyed. He was disappointed and said it was disgusting and that I shouldn't watch that kind of things. He asked me if I had seen many times, and I said 'no' (even though I already haved seen a few). After a while he came into my google + account (he knows my password) and researched my history. when he saw it, he insulted me (things like I'm disgusting and I am not mature, I'm just like JB fans and etc.)

      I don't understand the reason, because we have always been open to talk about our intimacy when alone, and he was always comprehensive. He never find the fact that I watch porn and masrtubate myself disgusting. He gave me to understand that he thinks the only thing that have a justification to watch containing scenes related to sex is porn. He also says he hates when movies/series have sex scenes, which to me is indifferent, I do not care or give a damn, though often they are not necessary. but it don't bother me at all.

      Later, after many discussions, I ended up promise him that I will not watch it again and, in return, he would never touch this subject again. (it was the only way to end this).
      This resulted, for a while. I've been a long time without seeing it and he did not mention nothing related to it. However I don't like or want to be PROHIBITED from doing something because of him.
      I broke my promise, and I ended up told him because I don't want to live my entire life feeling arrested and not be able to do what I want and also I don't want have the need to lie to the person I love.

        The whole thing sounds like a red flag to me. First it's whining/insulting about and prohibiting you from enjoying the porn you like, then later on it might be about something else. Keep watching what you like. He has no right to expect you to stop just because he does not like it. Like I said before, if it were me, I'd kick him to the curb.

    I don't get why some people are so fuming homophobic and then turn around and go jerk it to two women getting each other off. I can't stand hypocrisy. It's NO different.

    Because the MAN has to decide what's good and what's bad in a relationship. Women should have no say in this. Women should be subservient and obedient.
