Should i see a psychiatrist

So I’m gonna try to make this as short as possible.
As of maybe a few months now,

-I’ve been having hallucinations. These are typically things that I interpret wrong. (ex: mistakening strangers and their cars for people I know) the strangest I’d say is seeing people/living things when they’re actually an inanimate object.
-I also hear my name being called by people who aren’t even around.
-I’ll go in states of serious delusions where I think my boyfriend is cheating on me or has lost interest, these happen over little things: not getting a text back, another female being around, a change in routine or plans, etc.
Disclaimer: he hasn’t really done anything that would directly point to infidelity, after sitting down and rationalizing my thinking, there really isn’t reliable evidence besides my assumptions. We’ve been together for almost a year and we’re very in love. Although I’ve been jealously assuming things, I’ve never had the nerve to address them in fear I’d come off as crazy, so I just “suffer” in silence if you will lol

A little background on me:
*All of these I listed are intensified when I consume cannabis, in all forms I’ve tried.
*I have a history of years of sexual abuse
*From what my friends have told me, I have major mommy and daddy issues

So yeah should I see a doctor? Thanks!

Is It Normal?

  • None of that really sounds like hallucinations or delusions to me. It seems more like anxiety plus possible drug effects. But yes, you should still see a counselor for your problems if you are able to.

  • My friend went to the psychiatrist because at a large gathering he kept hearing someone calling his name. He learned he had some form of schizophrenia. He talked meds now and he seems happier.

  • This happened to me a few years ago. For about a year I would hear things, see things and swear I could feel things that weren’t there. I finally went to the doctor and they said stress, sleep deprivation, anxiety and the ptsd that I have from previous sexual abuse as well are huge contributing factors.they put me on anti depressants for a bit and I quit the job that stressed me out so bad, that all went away In time. Yes, go see your doctor and also hold off on the weed until you are mentally well again.

  • I experience tricks of the eye like that all the time, I think it's a very normal thing. I would recommend trying therapy before seeing a psychiatrist and trying to get medicated. It seems like a lot of these problems could be helped by seeing a therapist (from personal experience)

  • See a psychiatrist and get on antidepressants, antipsychotics, and anti anxiety pills. Stop smoking weed also, weed provokes psychosis.
