Should i join facebook

I've stayed away from FB for so long, I've tried sharing photo's with people on flkr ect. I use social forums but I still feel excluded because I'm not FB.

I hate FB it's a shit site, it turns adults into children, people kill themselves over it ect.

So should I join our generations Nazi party and go on FB?

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

  • Lol, melodrama much? :P

Facebook doesn't turn most people to anything different. It gives cruel people and morons a platform to be cruel and moronic, but only if they were always that way.

  • I joined FuckBook back in '06, I've regretted it ever since. Nothing good can come of posting all of your shit on the Internet. By the way, even your "private" info is not private and can be used against you at any time.

      • Agreed. I wish I'd never signed up. It is difficult to get away from once you do. Most of the posts are so meaningless, it drives me nuts. I don't get on too often anymore.

  • I actually hate FB and now only use it maybe once a week if that. I wouldn't join because it's really idiotic if you think about it. People post their "best" photos to show everyone and then post silly statuses that are completely pointless.

  • It's just FACEBOOK. Why do all of you make such a debate about it???

  • Don't give FB power, it's just a social media site. Get one if there are people that you want/need to get into contact with (or need to get into contact with you) and that's the only way. Honestly, it's not that big a deal.

  • If you've avoided it, how do you know what it's like? If it's from the opinion of other people, can you trust that and make a decision that doesn't involve seeing something for yourself?

  • I joined Facebook because:

    a) I can keep in contact with friends who live far away - their address or phone number might change, but for the most part their facebook page won't.

    b) I can share pictures and videos with friends / family and they can share their's with me.

    It does both jobs well.

If somebody I've added gets on my nerves, I either unfriend them or tinker with the settings so I don't have to see their inane bullshit. If I don't want certain people seeing my stuff, I tinker with privacy settings. If I don't want to share every aspect of my life on FB, I just don't share it.

It is what you make it - frankly I don't get the anti-Facebook brigade's overreaction to a simple social tool. It's not perfect but it's incredibly useful and I don't know any social network that does it better.

Adults into children? Killing themselves? Nazis? Really?

  • If you think Facebook is shit, then why are you asking us?
It's full off bullshit and drama. But I do like a bit of gossip ;)

    • People who are close to me are on it and I find it hard to share things with them like pics and jokes ect. because they just want to use FB they don't even check there email that much.
