I remember way back when I'd spend all my weekly pocket money on a pack of pokémon cards. In hindsight I was just lining the pockets of clever Japanese advertisers, but I still enjoyed collecting them, they were a nice little treat.
Obviously that doesn't quite match up to your daughter's passion for animé but I was just trying to emphasise the point that if it's her money, doesn't do her any harm and it makes her happy, what's the issue?
