Should i get a shark or dyson

I'm getting a new vacuum cleaner and I thought this site would be the best place to get advice. Can you think of any other options besides those listed above? Thanks!

Shark 5
Maybe Dust Devil 2
Dyson 8
Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

Firstly, Dysons are garbage, overpriced garbage. Borrowed one, when I was on a floor installation job, clogged it solid in 5 minutes, and it was a brand new carpet! Also, the "never loses suction" is a lie. The tubes easily jam with dirt, plus with he massive cone in the bin, you have hardly any capacity.

A $50 Bissell Powerforce cleanView is a much better vacuum than a Dyson. I have used a Bissell Powerforce at work, at it works very well. The bagged version is nearly as powerful as a Kirby! The Bagless is very good as well, and the Dust bin is decent sized. I'd recommend the Bissell.

I have no experience with a Shark, so I can't really say one way or another, but I'm sure it's better than a Dyson, though still pricy. If you really want a "cyclonic" vacuum, everyone has a version. Eureka has one in it's "The Boss" line, Hoover
Has a couple of them, the wintunnel rewind, and the "cyclonic" (original, right?) Bissell has the "PowerClean", the "liftoff", and others, even Dirt devil has the "Vision" line. All way cheaper than Dyson.

If you want a vacuum that is very powerful, and will last forever, A Kirby is a great one. Probably the most powerful vacuum cleaner you can buy, plus they last forever. However, they are very expensive, (over $1,500+USD)and heavy depending on the model.

    • I'll look into the Bissell, but I think I may be leaning towards the Shark after using my sister's.

Electrolux. It will cost more but they are far superior and should last a lifetime or more. They can be cleaned/serviced/repaired easily as well.

I've heard great things about those, never had one though. Eureka is their low end cleaners.

They also make lawn equipment, under the "Husqvarna" brand.

Wait, what! I have a chainsaw and a rifle made by Husqvarna. Never thought they made vacuums.

Secondhand Kirby. Let the first owner take the depreciation and you get an unbeatable super sucker at a reasonable price.

Yep, in my case, it was a freebie my grandmother gave me, 1967 Kirby dual Sanitronic 80, with extra heads and attachments. She bought it new way back when, and it will still pull the carpet up! It Was getting too heavy for her to use, so I have it now.

I'm kinda getting a small collection of vacuum cleaners

A maid is cheaper than a Electrolux. But on the serious side I wouldn't waste my time on a Dyson. I've known people that have Electrolux and they do last. Personally have a shark and works great. Can't see me buying a Electrolux house is almost all hardwood flooring.

I've heard a lot of great things about shark. We had Dirt Devil when I was growing. They're pretty good from what I remember except, for one my grandfather kept having to repair. They must've been affordable too otherwise, I don't think we would've bought them.

I had a Dirt Devil. Have one I should say.
It's ok I guess and it's suction is great for the first few uses but then it loses a lot of suction by the time the bins half full.
