Should i eat cereal for lunch

Everyday I go to school I wanna buy a pack of cereal to eat for lunch. The cafeteria food tastes very bad it's greasy and oily af, it also costs a lot so I wanna bring my own food. The thing is the only food I can think that is accessible to bring is cereal. I know it's not the best thing to eat for 5 times a week but I can't really think of anything else.

If you have any food suggestions please tell me. I need it to be easy to pack, doesn't smell, doesn't stain, doesn't taste bad, can survive very hot temperatures, is cheap and for it to be a bit nutritious. Thank you.

Edit: Currently i have 3 foods cereal, crackers and onigiris. thanks for the suggestions.

    • I can't bring containers to school. They take up too much space and if i put them in plastic bags they'll become bad and soggy ._.

      • damn that's stupid af, does the school check your bags? cause if they don't i'd just bring them anyway with food made at home, just make sure no teachers see you getting the containers out. even if you do get caught i doubt you'd get into serious trouble

  • I see no problem with that but what about milk? Isn't it a little dry?

  • Cereal is junk. Its filled with sugar and shitty carbs. The moat healthy part of it is the milk. I never eat cereal.

    • Oh I never knew that, should I try cornflakes instead? They're quite similar but I think cornflakes are more nutritious and less tasty.

      • Cereal just isnt very nutritious. If you like to cook its always good to cook a few days worth of meat and vegetables and put it in the fridge then take a little bit everyday.

  • Cereal is more for breakfast.

  • Celery peanut butter and raisins are good. Healthy. Easy to throw in a lunch box with a jar of PB. Maybe make a cucumber and ham sandwich. Fruits are good too, for snacking on.

  • Can you get a lunchbox and some ice packs? That's what I always carried my lunch in during school. Like WeirdGuy said, you can cook enough food for a few days and take some each day (I like to do fish or chicken and grilled vegetables), or you can pack something like a sandwich, fruit/vegetables, yogurt, peanut butter, etc. Sometimes when I just want to grab something on my way out the door, I like protein shakes as well. They are convenient, easy to travel with, and fill you up.

They also make shelf stable microwaveable convenience foods, but they're not very good in my opinion and they're also not the most healthy/nutritious.

  • Where are you that you can't bring in a lunch box? They can be searched for contraband and a soft sided one doesn't take up much room.

  • It depends on the cereal.. so many are sugary garbage.. I like granola as a cereal. Friggin delicious. Or oatmeal
