Most people on this site it seems are not that stupid. They don't use their real names, and never tell anyone where they live, aside from what country, from what I've seen.
At what point did I ask their real name or where they live. The point I am making is the OP does not give any idea of the type of rudeness or lies they are saying they are victim to. Nor do they give any indication as to who these people are to them, are they work colleagues, fellow students (we don't know if the OP works goes to college or what) are they neighbors, family members, people they know on the internet, etc.
Oh and for your information my real name actually is Nicky.
You didn't ask about names or where they live, I was just using an example of how I'm glad that it seems the people on this site have some sense. I was not giving any kind of direct response to anything you said, don't worry. What you said in your comments, I totally agree with. Also, there's nothing wrong with just using just a first name on this site if you have a common first name like Nicky, so don't worry, you're cool. I was speaking theoretically on if people were to use last names too, and give out info on where they live, or many other things they could give away, but I'm glad they don't.
Oh right sorry, I thought you were directing your post at what I said, so I apologise. Yes I agree I wouldn't want some of the nut jobs on this site knowing anything more about me than my first name, but as you say Nicky is quite common, there must be thousands of us around the world.
No problem, just a small misunderstanding. Yeh, if someone had a more odd first name, such as Kiki, a girl I once worked with, then it may not be as good of an idea to use that real first name on a site. How many Kikis are there? But still, that's not enough information to hurt anything. I really liked this Kiki I worked with though, she was really nice, cute, and funny.
Should i care about what other people think about me

Depends who they are and what they are saying, you don't give a lot of information.

That's a pretty name, I know it's not relevant to this post but just sounds like a nice name.
