My friend grew up without great plumbing at their house - t.p would clog the toilet, so her family tossed it in the garbage. She doesn't live there anymore but she still puts her t.p in the garbage. It's just the way she's always done it and she doesn't think twice about it. Maybe your gf was in that situation at one point?

just read your comment up there, do disregard mine..but it appears i was right about it being a plumbing issue, whoever the t.p belonged to...
