So you are telling this (obviously scared) person that she should willingly put herself in a position of danger where, if things escalate, she should have weapons on hand in order to subdue or possibly kill this guy which would lead to her going to jail?
This is terrible advice.
There is nothing wrong with her breaking up via text with this person who obviously doesn't seem to care about her wellbeing. She feels scared and she sounds young and vulnerable.
