Its kind of sad that tattoos and piercings are considered something that needs to be hidden when applying for a job. I have many visible tattoos and piercings (and no, I'm not a faggy emo kid) and I'm actually a really responsible, reliable person, but sadly many employees have not and will never have the pleasure of knowing that becausse judging a book by its cover seems all too popular nowadays. I do agree with your statement though, anything considered socially unacceptable probably needs to be hidden away, including attention seeking scratches on the wrists.
