Christmas, for most Americans today, is not about celebrating the birth of christ, but a time for the family to get together, taking a few days a year to be kinder to others and taking a break from the dog eat dog life most live the rest of the year.
That it should be that way all year goes without saying, but even atheists can embrace those ideals without compromising their beliefs.
