Short vs. long term memory

Okay, so I'm taking some tests. The tests are saying that I have some sort of short-term memory loss. But, I have an incredible long-term memory. I can remember things from when I was only a toddler, I can remember eating freaking baby food! please explain, am I normal?

Weird... I'm the exact same way! I can remember all kinds of things from 20-25 years ago, but I have a hard time trying to remember to do something I thought of 5 mins ago! Frustrating. I'm 27, by the way.

I remember longish term stuff but sometimes cant remember what happened 5, 10, 15 or more mins ago, or even sometimes just after I said something, or half way thru a sentance. But i passed school right up to the last year of highschool annnd my course to get my qualification for veterinary nursing last year, so had to remember alotta stuff over the years despite my bad memory, whats wrong with me lol

The short term memory loss may not be normal if it's messing up your life, but it can very easily be happening, even if your long term memory is better than average. My mom's friend has Alzheimer's (sp?) Disease & he remembers his childhood very well, but not really anything else. Good luck with whatever's going on with you!
