Shooting poachers on sight

I think poachers who kill or attempt to kill endangered species should be shot on spot, and this should be a capital offense. Is this an overreaction or ethical response to such a situation? What’s your opinion? Should poachers of endangered species be shot on sight?

Shoot the people purchasing rhino horns and elephant tusks because of their fucked up, backward culture.

Horrible as it is, the people really profiting from the ivory trade aren't the poverty level poachers in poor countries but the suppliers and purchasers in much wealthier countries.

Shooting people isn't the answer (bet you live in the usa, right): creating non destructive employment would be far more constructive.

I honestly don't care what happens to poachers, or the people who create the demand for the body parts of endangered animals as long as it's bad. A lot of so called Chinese medicine is just ignorant ass superstition.

Yes. Humans think they're untouchable, that they're the most and only important species on this earth, WRONG. Sometimes our destructive actions deserve destruction unto us.

One of the great things Trump did. He deregulated more than any other president. Finally the economy and the people can breathe a little from all those armies of regulators and bureaucrats hovering around with their piles of rules telling them not to put their hand in their nose. "Don't build here, there's some fucking bird some hippies like" and "there's some wetland over there" and all the bullshit that's been piling on for decades now smothering the rest of us from doing anything, and costing business more money that could be put to more productive use.

        I disagree wholeheartedly.

      • People with your mindset really do make the world a bleaker, blander place by the day. If everyone were like you, I'd bet every bit of green, variety, and beauty would be buried under concrete and factory waste within the next century.

There will always be trees, parks, animals and that kind of thing. And while those things have some value I guess, it doesn't create the kind of great wealth, create jobs, and put food on masses of people's tables unless they're monetized into productive businesses. I'm a minimalist when it comes to the environment; so long as the air is generally breathable, as there are a bunch of forests and animals here and there, we don't need more and more rules and money-costing agencies that tax us to death and bother people over preserving every little thing.

The thing is, you're not more important than animals. And no, if "business" keeps going the way it's going, there won't always be trees and animals around. Deforestation and animals being extinct happens all the time.

The only time I ever went hunting it was actually poaching. I was like 8 with my cousin so I didn't know the diffrence.

Anyways in the regards you are saying yea I say gun them down. It's one thing if you have no choice but to kill the animal in self decence but it's a whole nother to go with intent to murder them. If I saw someone killing a poacher well I do wear glasses never know when they fog up preventing ones vision

  • Yep. There's 8B+ of us buggers running around, and most people (and animals) don't even like humans that much. I'll take the interesting endangered species over a few selfish asswipes that the planet would be better off without any day
