I'm 68 years old. Been married to the same woman for 40 years. Sex has become almost non existant between us over the last couple of years, so rather than cheating on her with some hooker, I choose to beat off. I don't do it in front of her but she is well aware that I do myself a few times a week. My wife says I'm being nasty and disgusting. I disagree. I think that it's very normal. Is it? Old age is why she has lost interest in sex. We never had a problem until a couple of years ago. I talk to her about my needs, but she feels that sex once every three months should be enough for an old guy like me. Fuck no! But I wish she would stop making me feel as though I should be ashamed of myself. We still love each other, but this sex thing is pushing us apart. Any comments people?

    As women age, their libido drops due to a decrease in vaginal elasticity and natural lubrication (wetness). Sex can often be painful and uncomfortable for older women when you don't properly arouse them or use lube. On top of that, she's probably going through menopause or she's been through menopause which causes hormonal changes and decreases her sex drive.

    Try to see things from her perspective and talk to her about why she doesn't seem interested in sex as opposed to how much you want sex from her. There are two sides to every story.

    I don't know how you went 40 years without jerking off but I don't see a problem with you doing it now . I think you should do what keeps you happy . If she doesn't understand , maybe it's time to let go and enjoy the rest of life .

    She has "chosen" not to have sex. That doesn't mean you have to stop cumming. Find a chat room like chat random and beat off with other woman. There are a lot of people needed it. Better than stepping out with a real woman. More interesting than porn....

    Married people masturbate, that is pretty normal. Guys masturbate for all sorts or reasons that have nothing to do with sex anyway, like stress relief and to help them fall asleep.

    The only thing I find abnormal here is the idea that you didn't masturbate for the first 40 years of your marriage, and that a woman as old as your wife would think it disgusting. I would expect that a woman that age would know it was normal, and I would also think that if she isn't interested in sex she would be happy you were taking matters into your own hands (not pun intended) and leaving her alone.
