She constantly changes the way she looks and acts

A girl I know constantly changes her appearance and personality.
The way she looks constantly changes like dying her hair all the time, changing hair styles, wearing different styles of clothes all the time etc. Every time I see her something about her has changed.
Her personality is worse though.
With every person she meets it's like she completely switches who she is. With some people she is wild hyper then she's calm and layed back with another and with some people it's like she tries out different ways of acting to fit them and it's freaky because of how good she is at it.
Today she completely snached a girl I knows friend group because of how easily she was able to communicate with them and the way she acted drew them in.
That's not all, when she's with me the was she acts jumps from calm to hyper to moody then happy and all over again.
She knows how to read people and uses it to her advance. It's like she collects people just for the fun of it.
People are always caught in her trap and it's impossible for everyone to realize it.

Is It Normal?

  • Let her be. She has skills the rest of us can only dream of.

  • I can’t stand fake bitches. Also that must be exhausting to change so much so often. At that point does she even know her true self? I can’t change who I truly am even if I tried. I mean wouldn’t you want people to like you for you? The mental state of these people give me headaches.

    • It's not fake. She is trying to fit in and doesn't know herself yet. She doesn't sound malicious in intent.

    • I can guarantee that you act differently with different people. You're probably not even aware of it.

      • I think everyone does this to a certain degree. Whether or not it's a problem would depend on how pronounced the it is.

      • Listen Nikki,

I’m saying I hate when people do what is described here when they fake themselves to get others to like them.
But since you don’t know I’ll try and explain why I can’t pretend to be something I’m not since you wanna know. Okay my biggest thing I dislike about myself I wish I could change is I’m pretty introverted and wish I was more talkative.

Now I sometimes need to try and push myself to be especially when I have clients watching me work I have to keep conversation going and seem nice which sure no problem but I try and force myself to be more talkative than I am but fuck I can’t even do it. I clearly come off as nervous too. I have no problem being myself but tryin to be something I’m not never works in my favor. It’s obvious I get uncomfortable and can’t do it right.

I really can’t think of anything else where I try to fake something. Call me out on something I’ll stand behind it. I ain’t got nothin to hide. So tell me where do you think I’m fake? Enlighten me please 🥺

I really don’t care if someone likes me or not it’s nothing on me. I’ll try and push myself if it comes to work but in reality me is me.

        • Who are you to determine what is "fake" or not?

          • Idk dude maybe I’m also fake. But even with work when I need to make better impressions and be this nicer more social person I have to but it’s exhausting. When I’m working I’m focused on customer service shit because impressions are important. How I am regularly isn’t changed for peoples perspectives. I don’t try and be something I’m not for others to like me. Personality wise people change we get older but I don’t fake things I try and live in reality here. I’m going with the flow being myself maybe theirs times I can seem fake too idk but my point is I don’t purposely change myself for people. Do you see what I’m saying now? Cause I don’t particularly wanna type anymore books.

          • Then what do you call someone who changed who they are just to make people like them. Constantly needs to be different and feel the need to adjust themself for others? It’s not the true them. Fake mask except in this case she’s going alll out.

It’s attention seeking. Maybe It’s cause I don’t like the attention of others and being center of anything but when I see people acting not themselves for others it drives me crazy. Isn’t it better to want people to like you for you?

            • But what is the "true them"? Why is that something for you to decide?

Everyone behaves differently among different people. Even if you don't realize it. Most of it isn't even a conscious choice - they're not intentionally faking anything, that's just how behavior works.

  • She is a lost soul. A chamelian searching for her own truth. Give her some grace and let her find her way.

  • She will come unstuck when two worlds collide. Just leave her to it.
