I've seen a few out in public, though it's not super common where I live. With more and more women getting really short haircuts, I don't think it stands out like it would've a couple of decades ago, though. I haven't ever thought much about it, myself. As someone who has a love/hate relationship with my hair and gets pretty frustrated with it at times, I've wondered if some women just get fed up with it and decide shaving it and/or wearing a wig is easier.
