Sharing dessert in an interview

I had an interview one on one at a really nice restaurant and it was going really well, we had a nice connection almost like we were becoming fast friends (we are two women of the same general age). The waiter asked if we wanted dessert and I suggested we split this amazing chocolate cake they had. So we did we shared a plate and ate almost the whole dessert. I told my husband about this and he said I was crazy for being that intimate and weird in an interview especially since I just met the woman. Was it normal that I asked to share dessert? It feels weird now but in the moment it did not...by the way I did get offered the job but ended up not accepting it.

I think it is normal. I don't think that was unprofessional behavior. You were just being generous, and it was a nice gesture! It was obviously inferred as a compliment to the interviewer. However, it depends on the person.

Since you mention the person's sex, you pretty much already know that if the person was a guy, then it would be a little different.

Your husband sounds kinda judgemental, that sounds nice to me

It's normal if you want to date her.

Normal or not, it sounds like the desert thing worked in your favor even if you turned down the job.

    :-)
