  • I was referring to the predictions made in the sixties, such as "The Population Bomb" by Paul Ehrlich.

Although, what you have add only strengthens my point.

      Ahh.

"Although, what you have add only strengthens my point."

No, it didn't. If Borlaug hadn't have came along & doubled our food production, mass starvation predictions would have become reality.

      • It would have, but it didn't. That same thing happens every single time. The scientists predict that humanity is going to go through a mass-starvation event, then some breakthrough in agricultural science makes their prediction laughable. It's happened on all occasions before; it's going to happen again.

Because an outside force changed the equation.

"That same thing happens every single time. The scientists predict that humanity is going to go through a mass-starvation event, then some breakthrough in agricultural science makes their prediction laughable."

Don't care about that, only care about the original prediction. With the numbers, technology & techniques they had at the time their predictions were right.

"It's happened on all occasions before; it's going to happen again."

Maybe, then again speaking just for starvation we won't have to worry about it. I will bet my left testicle that we won't see 10 billion people on this earth at once.
