When I was a young man up until I was about 22 or 23, I would occasionally have sexual dreams involving my mother. I would be with her, and I would really want to have sex with her. Sometimes I'd be convincing her that it was okay, and it seemed really real.
Whenever I woke up, I would feel disgusted and ashamed, and it makes me shudder to think about it. But does anyone else have sex dreams with their mother or father? Am I normal?
Sigmund Freud a well renowned Psychoanalysist, researched this... He found that at the age of six, boys develop a sexual attraction to their mothers and girls to their fathers. This is normal, he found, because at the age of six (the age of curiosity) they haven't quite been taught about the bad and good types of relationships. He also found that if a boy has no father figure in his life, then developing sexual attraction to other females in his family will occur. So, my guess would be that you either had a bad relationship with your father or your father isn't around very often. Because it is the father's role in the family to teach his boy that it is wrong to have sexual attraction to relatives... and the mother to the daughter... same thing....
This sexual attraction to other female relatives often occurs when the boy doesn't develop emotionally past his six year-old level.
Other Psychoanalysists have found, later, that this also occurs if the boy was raped or molested as a child, by someone in his family. Even if he doesn't remember it (this is called repression).
