Severe social anxiety

I haven't been officially diagnosed but I don't know what else it would be. Social situations make me insanely stressed out, and even talking to my own family is nerve-racking. I don't have a lot of friends because I avoid talking to others, although the friends I do have say they enjoy talking to me. In public I'm constantly stressed that others are judging me, how I walk, what I'm wearing, I can't stand it. I don't know why I'm like this. Should I see a therapist?

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

Girl/bro, if you do have social anxiety, just pretend that you don’t. Pretend you have a whole load of confidence and actually try to. Eventually, it’s like you don’t have social anxiety at all. Trust me, I was suffering from social anxiety and drepression. One day I was like “screw this” I didn’t care and just went for it. I took a shot of the medicine. And now, people can’t tell if I suffered from social anxiety. So trust me. Do it

  • Take beta blockers and benzos before going out.

  • Obviously that's no way to live. I think seeing a therapist is a great idea.
