Seriously, is it really normal to be %100 "normal" ?

I know, I know, feels like mental gymnastics, but I think I read somewhere once a long time ago that out of 50 scientifically measured characteristics, the odds of being in the normal range in all 50 characteristics are like 1 in a million.

My question, Is it really normal to be %100 "normal" ? Additionally what would you say the normal ratio of normal and abnormal qualities in someone is normal?

Curious to here any and all of your thoughts, questions, concerns, jokes, insults, off topic and on topic stories and confessions.

  • I've thought something similar to this before. I guess being 100% normal would mean having a lack of any uniqueness, which seems strange to me.

  • Entropy exists everywhere, even inside a mind. These things that deviate us from a path of normalcy are a normal part of development. No one is 100% normal because we all have unique beginnings to life and interpret our individualized environments in our way and build a personality unique to anyone else despite how bland or genetic we may appear outwardly.

Lots of things; health, happiness, social behaviour, emotional stability, e.c.t fall on a spectrum. Normalcy is a range you can be in or out of.

The 'normal range' can shift depending on your age, experiences, the current state of larger society or close friends around you. You can be normal for your country but abnormal for your town.

It's 'most normal' to be normal in some but not all aspects, because normalcy is also a spectrum. A spectrum of spectra.

The word's lost all meaning to me :/

My confession is that I come across as a dick when posting comments online because I get overenthusiastic and the way I've been taught to structure a scientific argument for my education is a bad way to structure a comment to an anonymous stranger. I worry about this a lot more than is healthy, but would rather communicate in a way that sounds terrible than not communicate at all because I'm an entitled asshole who wants to be heard, because I, like everyone else, think that I am right until something challenges my assumptions or conclusions.

And I'm woke on the level that I want to be challenged, but only because I want to be right in the future.

Not really everyone has a quirk to them. Unless you think you are like emett from the LEGO movie.

  • First of all, Hippopotamuses CAN get sunburnt, so I don’t see why you’d state otherwise.

Second, cats are in no way related to mushrooms.

So dude. I'm going to pretend that you are a guy to widen the comfort zone here. Seriously, get serious.

"Abnormal behavior is any behavior that deviates from what is considered normal. There are four general criteria that psychologists use to identify abnormal behavior: violation of social norms, statistical rarity, personal distress, and maladaptive behavior.Jun 20, 2013".
