  • it’s normal in sense that a lot of people feel the same feelings you do when they self harm. hell, i used to but i am nearly 5 years clean. i was like this from grade 7- about 1 year after i graduated high school. and i can’t stress enough how important it is to get help. i regret self harming so so much. the scars and shame i feel for doing that to my body. it’s really embarrassing to me for people to notice them. i went on medication and while some do make it worse, you might find one that makes it SO much better. that’s what happened with me. and if a medication is making it worse, you can go back to your doctor immediately and try something else. medication is sometimes trial and error. your doctor may also recommend therapy which can also be extremely effective in your recovery and isn’t as scary or weird as it seems. and again, if you aren’t really liking your therapist, you can’t try another! YOU are in charge of your recovery. and let me tell you, it is so so so worth it. being happy is so much better, and it is in reach for you too. it’s possible. but probably not on your own. i really hope you choose to get better and seek help. because i was there and i’m glad i’m not anymore.
