Self-esteem

Is it normal to have moderately bad self-esteem? It's hard for me to look at myself without judging myself. I have issues with not exercising, and issues with the way I look, etc. Do many people suffer from this?

  • you know what ?
this whole situation sucks. i'm working on my self esteem too. thing is, you ARE perfect. everyone is, and the more confidence in yourself you have, the more perfect you become. just accept your differences , and embrace what makes you unique.

  • It's perfectly normal :) I used to be horribly out of shape, but have since started working out and running. While this has helped out quite a bit, I can't really get over the fact that I'm a 20 year old guy and I'm 5' 4". I believe that confidence definitely comes with age though.

  • Everyone get's this.

I got over this when I paid more attention to my friends. I realized that they had faults too, but i still loved them and thought they were amazing people. I even loved some of their faults. It helped me realize that faults aren't a big deal.

  • I think almost everyone feels this way. I know I sure do! Try to concentrate on your best features and know that you are an awesome person! :)

  • probably billions and billions. it is common that we are most critical of ourselves. though, it isn't productive.

stop looking in the mirror and get out there and do something. i think if you get yourself busy you will find that you have better things to think about.

being good to yourself is a way for you to start. although you don't feel like exercising, just start, a little at a time, adding minutes as the days pass. i think sometimes lack of exercise can make you feel that way too.
