Yes, but it is a fairly common pattern for dominant political minorities like gun owners (NRA), or gay rights groups to try to censure opinions by using outrage. Preservation of free speech is best served by the opposing party saying, "I can accept that you think I am scum, and deserve to die. In return, you should accept that I think you should go fuck yourself."
