Screaming babies on planes

The other day I was on a plane for a 3 hour flight and this baby screamed at the top of its lungs non-stop for 2 hours of the flight. Unfortunately for me, the baby was in the row behind me. The bloodcurdling shrieks unnerved me to the point that I had to ask the stewardess to move me up front. Thankfully she did. I wish planes had a compartment with sound-proof glass where parents could take their screaming babies so the rest of us could have a peaceful flight. Is this normal?

  • Yes. Totally normal, especially in the supermarket. I just wanna punch 'em in the fucking face. Parents need to learn how to be a good god da** parent.

  • I admit screaming babies annoy me to death, but the only time I'm mad about it is when parents take them to things like the movies or plays where they really don't need to be... :/

I always want to throw screaming little shits out of the plane. They REALLY need areas where the little brats can scream without bothering those who want to enjoy a peaceful flight. Unfortunately, people are gonna keep bringing their failed abortions on planes, but at LEAST they should make it more comfortable for people who don't like little punks or the awful noises they make!

You idiot! They have the right to travel as much as you do! Do you think the parents are loving the screaming? Do you think they enjoy the distress the child is in? Do you think they enjoy causing discomfort for the other passengers? Did it ever occur to you that the child could be in pain with an ear ache from the pressure change and that's why he was crying? Oh maybe he was crying just to piss you off? Did you stop to think that they could have been on their way to a funeral and needed to get there in a hurry? I hope this situation happens to you each and every time you fly and that you won't be moved! I also hope one day, you fly with your children who are one and three and they scream for five hours so you get a good feel for what a helpless situation that is!! Creep!

  • holy shit!! crying babies are the worst. you just wanna hit em over the head and tell em ta shut the f up, or tell the mother to take care of the baby in a very rude and disturbing way.

They should be banned from planes.

I hate the baby-hating craze on the internet, but I understand about the babies on planes. I figure they probably have earaches that they can't relieve. They really shouldn't be taken on planes at all, it's not good for their ears, but sometimes it can't be avoided.

i can'r stand it when a young child screams and cries like a 4 yr old and the parent or rents don't make them stfu!!!!
but when it is an infant i feel bad but i do get annoyed but infant (under 12 months of age) you just can;t really do much about making them stop crying. its the older children who piss me off the most. i mean jeezuz this asian lady had her fkn 5 yr old SON IN A STROLLER!!!!!!!!!!!WTFF!!!

I agree! The other thing that annoys me is when a chair-kicking kid is sitting behind you!!

It's normal to have that totally annoy you. I'm a parent and it still annoys me but just remember that it isn't anyone fault. If my lil one cried in the grocery store or anywhere, I felt an overwhelming ammount of stress b/c I didn't want anyone to be bothered but it happens and it us super stressful for the parents.

It is normal to be annoyed. Try earphones next time? You're lucky to get such an understanding flight attendant and such a sparsely populated flight!
