Scared to tell landlord about water damage

So I discovered a leak a while ago and I planned on telling my landlord but I wanted to fix a door that I kicked in first cause he would evict me if he knew I was kicking in doors. But I didn't know how to do it and I don't have a car so I didn't tell him. Meanwhile the leak got a lot worse and there's mildew, wet walls and stained hardwood floor now. When I come home from work I have to mop up all the water on the floor every day and in the morning when I wake up.

Tell the landlord, no ifs, ands,or buts! You need to get that leak fixed, pronto! The longer you wait, the worse the leak will get,and the more pissed off the landlord will become.

  • Sounds like you're in some deep shit bud. Better start learning how to repair mildew damage. You just need to do enough so that it isn't noticeable or spreads further. And get someone to help you with that door.

If you don't have a car, what do you plan on living in when you get sued and evicted?

Why did you kick the door to begin with? Regardless, since its your fault, its up to you to pay compensation.

  • He’ll notice it’s not something new if it’s been around long enough to damage that much and that will bring suspicions. Better to do it sooner and go get a new door and quit running through them. I’d rather see a hole in a door than actual serious damage. Wait you don’t know how to put a door in? Weak ass troll.
