Scared of phone ringing

People used to call me all the time (too much for my comfort) while I was doing important tasks, and I didn't want to talk to them, but I wasn't allowed to plug the phone, so I resorted to ignoring their phone calls.
Sometimes the phone would ring for up to 15 minutes straight.
Now my heart races every time I hear the phone ring. I'm okay with making phone calls, but I would rather not receive them.
Does anyone else have this?

Is It Normal?

    I also get scared with sudden loud noises or sudden things. I get the feeling of a heart attack or something like that... after that i feel dizzy and tired. But its just for a while

    Telemarketers spam so much now, I never answer the phone. I listen to it ring for ages, and I get nervous in case it's something worth getting up for.

    Every time the phone rings, I get a jolt through me that goes from my head to my stomach really quick. Even if I am expecting a call. I also feel that way when someone knocks on the door. Not sure why. Sudden loud noises usually scare me.

    I'm the other way round, I'm scare of answering the phone! I don't mind if the person is in a room next door or anything when they phone but when someone is futher away I'm just really nervous and scared of talking to them - I don't even know why! D8

    Yeah, I'm kinda like that too. I hate talking on the phone! I worry though that I won't get there fast enough and maybe I'll miss a really important call.

    This happens to me too. I get scared when the phone rings and also annoyed at how loud it is. Weird but at least I'm not alone.

    i hate getting phone calls, especially when you dont know whos calling.. im always afraid of bad news or what so ever
