      Not always the chimney as some houses don't have them. But, it's historically accurate to say he comes in a sleigh, at least for parts of the world where there is snow.

        Most modern houses and apartment buildings don't have chimneys. Also doesn't the sleigh fly? He parks it on rooftops and uses his Christmas magic to do his thing. Bada-bing! Bada-boom! Here's your present mf! NEXT! XD

            According to the State of Florida; Santa does not do work.

            I'm not sure how that affects his sleigh, or even if he uses one in warmer climates. But if he doesn't work then its not required for the sleigh to work either.
