Sad lamp makes me obsessive?

I used a SAD lamp last winter and it helped with depression, but when I used it recently I found it made my thoughts race. I got fixated on religion and symbolism. When I stopped using the lamp it went away. Is this a thing?

It sounds about right for a lamp made to help with seasonal affective disorder would make one's thoughts race. I mean, seasonal affective disorder is a type of depression, and depression has common symptoms of loss of focus and disinterest, so it makes sense to me.

That sounds coincidental and like you got something other than depression going on there. You should see your mental health care doctor.

I looked up SAD lamps and I'm going to say, no, it's not a thing.

What is a sad lamp? I'm pretty sure it's not what I think it is, so please someone enlighten me, before I make crude jokes about it XD

But in all seriousness, I doubt any light can effect your mood to that effect. I know green is supposed to be calming and blue light is bad before you sleep, I doubt sad lamps can create some weird mixture of light that messes with your emotions that much.

there was an episode of northern exposure (remember that show from the 90s?) where someone gits addicted to onea them lamps after gittin one to fight the long darkness in alaskan winter

theyre leadin an amazin productive super happy energetic fun life at first but it soon devolves to madness

it was a heavy handed attempt at a hard drugs metaphor
