As I just said to another poster, I think the reason why KeddersPrincess would call you ignorant (and I'd have to agree with her) is because you unfortunately have dealt with the unpleasant black people. You couldn't have met more than a few hundred in your lifetime, if that. There are close to a billion black people. The few hundred nasty ones that you've met are a very very small fraction of the whole race. Not at all close to 99% so how can you say with certainty that 99% are scum bags? You don't know anything about the millions upon millions of other black people and you don't want to, and that is why you would be referred to as ignorant. I doubt me saying this will change your views but I'd like to point out that I am a black women, young (so it's not like I've matured with age or whatever), and never have I burned someone's clothes (I'm still surprised that people actually do that), I'm not violent and I'm not stupid either. I also grew up around a lot of other black people, and I don't act "ghetto". Most black children I knew had a father. I know as many single black mothers as I know single white/asian/mexican etc mothers. In general, all the stereotypes are mostly untrue in the case of the many black people I've come to know. Like I said, I doubt this will change your views but can you at the very least see why stereotypes would be annoying for those of us who aren't like that at all?
Again, more excuses. How does it make me ignorant that I avoid people who have given me a negative experience? Would you go make friends with an entire prison ward full of serial killers? No, you wouldn't. Because you avoid people who you see as bad. Your logic, as well as Kedders, is messed up. You say that because there is a few good blacks, I should just jump in head first and exhaust myself searching for one good one, just because they are black. It's like sticking your hand into a fire a million times because just MAYBE one time it may hurt less.

And I'm sorry but that analogy is frankly quite stupid. Comparing black people to serial killers is a little extreme, first of all, but it implies that we ALL have done something to warrant such an analogy. Serial killers have obviously all killed people. They deserve to be feared and seen as bad because they've made their bed. How did I make mine? By being born? As I already said, there are a billion black people out there. You think that because you've met a few bad ones, the majority of the race is bad and a minority is good, when it's the other way round. A small minority burns clothes, commits crimes and are generally not nice people. But there are people like that in every race. I've been screwed over by people of other races before. Did those experiences cause me to become a racist and stop me having white friends? No, because my friends are good people. I know that because I know them. I haven't just made an assumption. I'm not saying that you should "exhaust (yourself) searching for one good one, just because they are black" as you put it. You don't have to actively make friends with a black person just because. I'm just saying that in an ideal world, you would keep an open mind next time you see one. Being a bad person isn't genetic. People are shaped by experiences. You can't compare someone who grew up in the ghetto and got by jumping people to someone who grew up in the suburbs, took ballet classes and went to university. It seems to me like the black people you've found yourself near are the former.
Actually, I never mentioned the race of the the hypothetical serial killers. They could all be Asian, the point was that you don't want to be around people that you dislike. And again, you keep saying the majority of black are good, you know that isn't true. A lot of the the guys I served with lived in Rochester Hills (A rich white town just out side of Detroit) and guess what? They still acted like NIGGERS. They would steal, blame the white soldiers for everything and be disrespectful monkeys. I never once said that their are not scum bag white people, I'm well aware that there are. But every single black I have met is garbage, just nasty ghetto coons with nothing on their minds but weed and, as always, "white women". Everyone keeps talking about this huge magical minority of blacks that are just outstanding people, exactly what rock are they hiding under?
True, you didn't mention the race of the hypothetical serial killers, but it was implied. But nevertheless I'm saying that the proportion of bad blacks is similar to the proportion of bad asians/whites/latinos/etc. My point is that there are bad people. You can categorise them as much as you want but that doesn't mean that one of them is less likely to screw you over. In a dark alleyway, would I feel less apprehensive near a stranger of my own race than a stranger of another? Hell no, because as far as I'm concerned they could both turn around and mug me, forget about race. And it's terrible that those soldiers behaved in such a way. I was under the impression that people come out of the army, having served with all different kinds of people, with a better tolerance for others. Unfortunately those soldiers stopped that happening for you. I can see that this is futile, which is a shame because you're clearly an intelligent person. I just want to stress that being a bad person isn't genetic. Maybe you should try to keep that in mind.
I understand that there are bad people of every race. If I see some cracked out hobo, or some wigger I stay away from them too. My segregated lifestyle isn't just limited to race. In fact most of the hate we get is FROM white people. And a lot of people leave the military with a racist mindset.
