If you watch a nature program, and they show the mating behavior of other animals, a recurring pattern is the presence of violence, whenever there is sex. For example, two males might battle one another until one is nearly crippled. The female will then mate with the winner. It can be argued that she is sexually excited by the violence and attracted to the aggressive and dominant male.
So, if sex and violence are associated in the animal kingdom, it shouldn't be surprising that this might be the case in humans too, and that violence and aggressiveness may instinctively be a sexual turn on. I believe that's why rape fantasies are so popular among women.
