Real people

Is it normal to feel like no one really knows anything at all. People claim to know some things, but only know a small tidbit about a topic and speak on things they really dont fully understand; for that reason I find it hard to take ppl seriosly. I feel like most ppl lack a true and full idea of who they are, and therefore create themselves on the whim each time they interact with someone. Its almost like we all attempt to sell ourselves to be interesting to one another to hide our true boring selves from being discovered!

Is It Normal?

  • Are you excluding yourself from this? Does it depress you?

  • The problems with people are they are afraid, afraid to be criticized by others. All people have their own flaws, and sometimes flaws make people feel insecure. They are afraid that others won't be able to accept them for who they truly are, so they try their best to hide it. Others on the other hand wants to fit in so the try their best to be the same as other people. They try to be someone who they aren't. In the end of the day, people just look at themselves, is this truly who I am? As days pass by, people tend to forget who they were, and in the end, all they would remember is who they have become.

  • Think your reading too much into things.
Like we mentally gather opinions /views from all the tid bits we hear over time. But I'm not interested in going into depth on my views 10 times a day, I'd be arguing about stuff non stop that's just life if we do, see people doing that all the time. What's the point everyone has their views.

  • Do we EVER get to the point where we can know ourselves? I mean, every day is a new day and really, we can never be the person we were the day before. I know, I say this like I'm an expert at living in the moment but I can only hope that one day I won't live with the huge burden of my past heavily laid upon my shoulders.
Also, not only do I think these kinds of thoughts are a common stage in life, but I also think maybe that they are generational.

  • A lot of people are like that, as you get older though you do tend to learn more about yourself and how you want to live and care a lot less about what others perceive.Find others who are like- minded. Some are real and some aren't. Knowledge is in oneself and sometimes book smarts has nothing to do with the depth of a soul.Be real.

  • Are you describing me?! I find it hard to take myself seriously at times.

I'm still young yet, I suppose....I still have some time to become more "real." I'm sick of being boring.

"I feel like most ppl lack a true and full idea of who they are, and therefore create themselves on the whim each time they interact with someone"

    - yeah, I agree with you here. But..how many people can say that they have a full, complete idea of themselves? Do we ever get to that point. Maybe close to it, but I think that we're always trying to get closer to that. Even when you do get closer and closer to that point, it's still just an idea. It's when you forget about all that and just BE that you're being real.

I'm good at spewing bull, I know :)
