You should become a police officer instead. That way, you can do all of the things you described (patrol, protect, defend), but do it in an organized way without endangering your life AND the lives of your fellow citizens.
I know it feels like you know what you're doing, but you don't. You need to be trained. You could easily get an innocent person killed.
