  • When you work on the boxer engine, you don't really have a lot of working room tho, do you? I mean the packaging of a V8 isn't bad, unless you gotta work on the turbos and the exhaust manifold, then it's a nightmare. But for the most part it's ok.

But in a boxer engine, anything you do is more tricky and more messy, cause of oil leaks... Still, sounds pretty badass. Love the turbo whistle. And you weren't even giving it too much gas. Sometime you should do a 0-60 video and we'll do a comparison XD

As for the snow, there is no snow right now in Bulgaria. Funny enough, it's actually warm here: 14C... on Christmas!!! That video you saw was from 3 years ago and the snow melted 2 days later.
And yes, in Germany empty snowy parking lots are locked for the night to stop car enthusiasts from drifting, or "disturbing the peace" as our mayor calls it. She is a green, hippy idiot that hates car enthusiasts, wants to reduce all city speed limits to 30kmh, ban internal combustion cars in the city center and introduce an Autobahn speed limit of 80kmh around the whole city that goes on for 20km after the city limits.

Funny, since my city has a plant that makes BMW M-car engines, a car show twice a year and our stretch of Autobahn is known as a top speed test track for every country east of Germany XD

Anyway... wanna hear some sick bus gearbox sounds?! Here is a video of me flooring the Citaro at work, 0 to top speed run, while there were no passengers on board: https://streamable.com/pzuqf

Old ZF boxes are loud af... If you are sitting at the back of the bus, it's like you are in a GT car...

The beeping you hear is a warning chime that sounds if you are flooring past the kickdown function. Basically it's like a redline warning sound to deter you from driving like a hooligan.
The small orange dial in the speedometer is the rev counter, but these are among the first things to break on these buses. And since they are automatic, no bus company would spend money on fixing the rev counter.
PS: Ignore my almost bald look... While my girlfriend was doing my haircut this summer, one of the plastic teeth things on the hair clipper broke and shaved off too much hair. To hide the damage, I had to go with an army style haircut XD

Hahaha! I get that... Doubt the guy wants to stand in a blizzard as you do donuts around him in the warm comfort of your car. My girlfriend doesn't mind filming from inside the car, but she doesn't like filming from the outside.

Now, Top Gear and the Grand Tour. If you have netflix, it's probably there. If you don't, here is my tip on how to watch movies and series for free. And since I'm a money hungry bastard, I watch most stuff for free.
I just use www.yandex.ru (russian search engine) to find and watch movies and series. Why Russian? Cause google doesn't show you free streaming websites. Yandex shows you everything.

I highly recommend Top Gear (the UK one, cause there are also US and Australian versions that suck). I'd say start at season 8, all the way to season 22 (then the bbc sack Clarkson and then Hammond and May also quit, effectively putting an end to TG)

And the Grand Tour, it's even cooler, cause the trio don't have any tv nannies anymore, they can do anything. And they have amazon to back them up and give them large piles of money to entertain us. Just youtube some Grand Tour highlights and you'll love it.

    • Idk I’ve always felt like it’s really roomy and things are easy to get to. I just the other day replaced my serpentine cause it was being a winny bitch in the cold and it took 10 minutes. These have one for power steering and one for ac which I liked cause my previous cars were those bitches you gotta run through to many pulleys. I honestly have fun doing stuff with my car because of how easy it has been compared to what I previously had messed with. I mean I’m sure some things can be a bitch like the spark plugs.

I know I wasn’t hardly stepping on it. I do notice I don’t usually have to floor it cause it really is fast. Not just saying that either 😒. I have been really easy on my car.. well trying to be. But I try not to beat the piss out of it and so I’m not AMAZING at shifting super fast which is my downfall. But I’d love to do a 0-60. I saw one guy the other day with a cobalt ss or at least the trunk was of a ss who knows if it was real cause it was all riced out. The tard had a autozone cheap ass hood scoop and plastidip hood. But I wanted to have fun with him so I raced him till I had to turn on my way to work. Totally made my day too 😂. https://imgur.com/a/OD8zKkq
As I slowed down and he passed me he just stared right at me and all I could think of was this meme.

Your mayor sounds like a nightmare. The type of shitty mayors you see in cartoons. And speaking of snow so far this winter has been easy and not to snowy which I’m surprised by.

For a bus that actually didn’t sound bad I bet it is pretty loud. And don’t worry I couldn’t even really see your hair haha

I just looked on netflix and couldn’t see it but I found something on here called fasted cars next thing ik now I’m watching it. Ohh nice thanks for the tip. I’ll look into it.

Edit: Nvm just started fastest cars and this guy got all sexist and said he doesn’t like his daughter helping him cause girls shouldn’t race they should be in the kitchen. AHA what. Fucking honda civic drivers love to beat his ass and tell him to make me a sandwich. I hate sexist shit makes no damn sense.

Oh shit forgot my different sex organ means I can’t like cars. Ohh scary.

      • All of my cars, except the old Beamer have stupidly complicated belts. And in my S600 it's so tight, I can't do the job myself. My hands and arms are too big to work in that space, or maybe I'm doing it wrong, Idk... I really wonder how Mercedes managed to cram in a 6 liter V12 in there. There is no free space in that engine bay XD

BTW: LOL on the cobalt meme... Sadly we don't have any cobalts in Europe, but the next best thing is underpowered BMWs with M-packages and tons of M-badges. I love messing with them. Especially in the E-class and the C350e... E-class is like a wolf in sheep's clothing and the C350e... Must be embarrassing to be beaten by a plug in hybrid XD
One time I met the biggest BMW ricer ever, he even had one of those prison-style marks for all the cars he had beaten with the lost side being empty. After losing at a race to the next lights, I pulled down my window, he pulled down his and I said "Bro, gotta add at least one in lost... I'm in a diesel and I beat you, imagine what the AMGs, Porsches etc would do to you"

He flipped me off and tried to peel out when the lights turned green, but he stalled instead. I calmly drove away and laughed.

Yeah our mayor sucks... even more, cause now there is a project to expand the three tunnels that run through my city. The only thing this means is even more traffic jams. Sometimes I really regret going to Germany. My daily 10km commute already takes up to an hour.

The bus is only really loud when you sit at the rearmost seats. Good thing German buses ain't like Russian ones. Those had the engine, right next to the driver. Offset on the right. Russian bus drivers had to drive with the windows down at all times, cause of all the engine heat and noise XD

I really don't understand the bias towards women in car culture. Can't we all enjoy cars? If a chick knows how to do an engine swap it is something to be commended, not criticized.
If she knows how to heel and toe and nail apexes - great! Means she can handle a car right and you don't have to fear she might damage yours. Wish my girlfriend was more into cars.
I always say if you are not interested in something, you can never be good at it. For example, I have no interest in golf. I've tried it and I'm a lousy gofer. I'd rather mess around and race my friends in the golf kart and then go drinking, than sit and talk about grass conditions and swing counts.

        • That sucks. Kinda reminds me, I may be running off of what’s easy for me cause I obviously have really small hands so I can reach stuff pretty well. Good at reaching but usually gotta have my boyfriend around to mess with the impossible tight bolts that I make no dent in.

I like how we have our own pack of ricers and where you live, always seems to be toward badging. Hahah that’s great and especially to stall right then and there. I’m not sure I’ve seen that type of marking on a car but sounds pretty funny if he can’t beat you.

That’s dumb just going to make more traffic. Buses with the engine right beside the driver is a thing we have here. I never really thought how loud it probably is for the driver.

That is exactly right gender shouldn’t matter on what interested a person. That’s a good saying I like that. Very true. Oh messing around in a golf kart would be the only fun in it for me too haha.

          • Yeah, German ricers tend to go more for badging. Bulgarian and other Balkan ricers just do rice the old fashioned way... by making their car look like it came from Need for Speed Underground.

A good friend of mine claims he has the fastest diesel Seat in Europe... supposedly. It's a Seat Leon with some proper engine mods, but also lots of ricey stuff. He claims his Seat will do 320kmh, but even if you put a W16 out of a Veyron in it, the transmission is still the same. So it will still hit redline at about 240kmh. A Seat Leon is simply not designed to be a fast car.

Needless to say, our friendly race between his Seat and my E420 turned into a bloodbath. I simply sped off into the distance. Didn't hear from the guy for 2 weeks... he was that pissed.

I recently had the idea of buying an old Saab 900 turbo, like my neighbor and childhood friend. Guy has 3 BMW 635CSI' a BMW 2002 and a Saab 900 turbo. I've always liked old Saabs, but they would be an absolute nightmare to maintain and restore I imagine. So that's a no go, especially now.

And our roadworks - because of coronavirus, there is no traffic. I can get to work and go home in about 9 minutes. Or it used to be like that, until we had to temporarily close the dealership in the beginning of March.

Now I'm a full time bus driver until the corona thing clears up. I drive a mostly empty bus around town, or do a village run. It's quite good fun driving down the empty roads, enjoying my music and not having to do cashier work for passengers that don't know E-tickets exist. Worked out a deal until the dealership reopens. I've had to close down my business too and give my employees unpaid vacation, but still give them a monthly bonus to keep them from leaving (good and cheap employees are hard to find) but I still gotta pay all my taxes and stuff. And because my business is fairly new, I am not eligible for government aid packages.
All of this is out of my pocket and I also had to pay all of the taxes and insurances for this year in March for all of my cars.

On the plus side, the Autobahn is completely empty. You can do top speed runs until you blow up your engine if you want XD

Tho not advisable unless you have a government issued permit that you can drive about... Only issued for people who can't do the home office thing. Anyway, hope things are better on your end.

As for golf kart fun - got me kicked out of a golf club once, but it was worth it. Friend of mine's dad worked there. We were invited for a practice game and we raced the golf karts.

            • Since we don’t have them I don’t know anything on seat but I can imagine they would be just another average slow car brand not focused on being fast. 😂 always funny to show up a ricer who has bullshit to say.

I’ve never been a huge saab person only saab I see around and will admire is the saabaru those 9-2x. I have seen some older saabs that do look fun I’d buy one but it would just be to mess with nothing so far to grab me for more than just a glance. I’m open minded tho. I’m sure if you got one I’d be down to hear some stories on it.

For the most part I still see some dealerships open around here that never closed up but I’m not sure how bad the carona has been for your area. I bet it is fun being able to have empty roads. Where I work never closed cause we are essential and my hours are crazy I didn’t get much time to go mess around on empty roads. Ooo that sucks having to pay out of pocket for all that, really nice you still give them extra to stick around you sound great to work for. My friends and family’s work never gave them extra for being out of work, nor did I get any extra for working during all this carona mess.

😂 kicked out for racing golf karts sounds like the best way to me.

              • Nice to hear from you, thought you ditched iin XD

So, what's up with you? Any new mods? New Subie adventures? Also an electric manual transmission Mustang came out and I was weirded out by the concept...
Hope the whole corona insanity hasn't been hard on you, cause it's been a real pain here.

That Saab plan I had, down the drain, as well as any major restoration and modding work on my cars. Only thing I will do is basic maintenance to my E-class in September when I go to visit my parents and try to have a vacation at home. Girlfriend is moody cause we can't go to the beach, visit friends, go to parties, or do pretty much anything. I kinda welcome it... Both financially and emotionally. I really need a vacation. Having to comply with stupid government regulations and keeping my business closed so long wasn't good for my wallet to say the least. And ever since we reopened, business has been very slow. People are still scared and want to avoid people, even if said people only walk around in their lawn to do their work. Right now I'm working for nothing. My business expenses and income are pretty much the same. I have no idea what to do... Selling the business is bad, cause nobody will buy it and I will lose money. Autumn is approaching and according to the WHO, there will be a second wave and if that's true, I may have to get out while I'm ahead, close up shop, return my vans to the dealer, pay leasing fees and consider myself lucky I don't have to start selling my own stuff.

The only upside is that I managed to secure a contract for snow clearing this winter in my town, if it snows that is...
And even if it doesn't, city hall will cover my basic expenses so I can stay afloat.

Really pissed off I couldn't get any government aid, cause my business is "too small" and "too young". Way to promote economy growth by giving billionaires more tax breaks and aid and undermine regular people trying to make a living. Things were even worse in Bulgaria... The first businesses that got "corona aid" money were casinos, betting shops and other businesses owned by politicians.

Sorry if this was kinda ranty... I haven't really talked to anyone about any of this stuff.

As for the golf carts, it was worth it. I managed to get a tiny bit of wheelspin and kick up some dirt in a golf cart. And my mate fell out of his cart while taking a sharp turn XD

Nobody got hurt and there was nothing for the cart to hit, but it was still an intense moment.
