Random cough attacks! :(

Is it normal it have these random cough attacks??? Bascially i start off by having an itch in my throat, i cough, then my eyes start running so it looks like im crying, next comes the uncontrolable coughing and then i can't breathe unless i cough!!!!
Is that normal? Does anyone else have this?

    This sounds like you are having allergies. Does this tend to happen after you eat certain foods or interact with animals or on days where the pollen count is high? (etc)

        Sure... but I have such a hard time dealing with others wind sometimes, I even hate to deal with my own.

            Fine, I admit it, that old wives tale really is true. Us females are incapable of passing wind. The magic in our blood prevents us from exploding from high pressured gases.

    No, its not normal. I have something almost exactly the same. It started with a cold I had a couple of years ago that gave me an intchy throat and a deep cough (in my chest). Even tho the cold is long the cough continued-its not in my chest any more but i get an itchy throat and cough and it makes a weird noise. I have had my lungs checked and they r normal. The only thing they have been able to find is that my throat is irritated when they look at it. Somehow the virus damged something in my throat. I will go again to c wat they can do about it when I find a Dr I like. I know eating ice cream and laughing seems to trigger it as well-its weird. Good luck w/urs! If the doctor can't figure out the cause ask them where you can go where they CAN figure it out b/c it evidently isnt normal and causes problems beyond minor nuiances.

    I had what I called random chronic cough syndrome.
    (sounds fancy huh :D)

    When I was trying to pray, or do something that required plenty of focus and bullshit, it would start out with one cough. Then another... et al.

    All perfectly timed with intervals as well.

    My thug name in the street was "young cough" for some time.

    this sounds like whooping cough. i currently have whooping cough and its a major hassle. the best thing you can do is go to your doctor and let them diagnose you with it. suggest to them you think it might be whooping cough, if you've only just recently gotten it they can prescribe antibiotics but if you've had it for awhile like me then you'll have to wait it out.
