Most people who have tattoos don't give a fuck about what people think of them. It does not mean they have a low IQ by any means, nor are they criminals. Only small minded people think that way. Tattoos are simply a way of showing ones own individualism. I could easily say that people who dislike tattoos are ignorant, boring and don't have a mind of their own, usually choosing not to do something because they might be looked down upon by their families or society. It takes quite a bit of talent and thought to produce great tattoo pieces and in turn, people will pay a lot of money for them. I would rather be a great artist then become something only because society says it's the way it has should be.
