  • Keep in mind though in Nazi Germany it was primarily about the desire to create the perfect society. As Hitler rose he promised solutions for their economic problems and was predicting a new 1,000-year third Reich. They were extremely proud of what they were creating, that was the primary focus. Yes they wanted the Jews gone but in their minds that was just a small part of the grand vision they had for themselves. The Nazis were also very secretive about what they did, the general public didnt even always know about all the horrifying things that would later happen to the Jews and others who were sent away. A lot of propoganda.

The point at which more probably should have been done is when the Nazis began to slowly make the Jews into second class citizens by limiting what they could own, where they could travel, who they could associate with, etc. They systematically stripped them of their normal rights as citizens. For all the talk nowadays about racism toward blacks, keep in mind their rights have only increased in this country and they are full citizens now. In fact it could be argued that policies like Affirmative Action turn blacks into a protected class, putting them above others. Similarly when you see people proposing extra taxes on the rich for example, that also can be seen by some as trying to use the state to lower the status of a class of citizens. Just food for thought
