  • As a Jew i always feel a bit awkward with issues like this. On the one hand, I very much dislike certain groups of people such as blacks for example. I think they cause a lot of problems and generally speaking we would do much better in society without them.

On the other hand, my grandparents escaped Nazi Germany and their families were murdered in cold blood by the Nazis. Literally taken outside of their homes, told to strip naked, and shot to death. For no reason at all. They were good people but just because they were Jews the Germans murdered them along with millions of others.

So no matter how much I dislike someone, I would never go around saying they need to be shot or murdered or whatever. But I can understand how some people are really bothered by a certain group of people.

I do not claim to have the perfect solution, but I think it is probably best to allow free speech and discussion to take place so that angers and grievances may be heard, debated publicly, and possibly channeled into something constructive and good.

When people start making serious threats though, or actually committing senseless crimes against others, we all need to speak up loudly at the first possible opportunity otherwise that kind of behavior may spread all too quickly

            • i will gladly catch that. I happen to really like gefilte fish, at least the kind they serve at chabad synagogues. But the other type, the white stuff in a jar at some synagogues and in the supermarket that stuff is pretty gross,

      • Oh shit! That's a thing of beauty! I'm a Catholic girl from Down South, but I know good Jewish talk when I hear it. I wouldn't mind learning some Yiddish, cause there's something awesome about it, especially if it's old, grouchy insults!

    • And don't you think the Nazi's started off by just talking racism and getting away with it? Ultimately leading to the gas ovens.

Just what I can never understand, a racist jew

      • Keep in mind though in Nazi Germany it was primarily about the desire to create the perfect society. As Hitler rose he promised solutions for their economic problems and was predicting a new 1,000-year third Reich. They were extremely proud of what they were creating, that was the primary focus. Yes they wanted the Jews gone but in their minds that was just a small part of the grand vision they had for themselves. The Nazis were also very secretive about what they did, the general public didnt even always know about all the horrifying things that would later happen to the Jews and others who were sent away. A lot of propoganda.

The point at which more probably should have been done is when the Nazis began to slowly make the Jews into second class citizens by limiting what they could own, where they could travel, who they could associate with, etc. They systematically stripped them of their normal rights as citizens. For all the talk nowadays about racism toward blacks, keep in mind their rights have only increased in this country and they are full citizens now. In fact it could be argued that policies like Affirmative Action turn blacks into a protected class, putting them above others. Similarly when you see people proposing extra taxes on the rich for example, that also can be seen by some as trying to use the state to lower the status of a class of citizens. Just food for thought
