Racism question

Is it normal that when I talk to a black person I think that he/she may think that I think he/she is black and I act differently because of that and so I end up acting a little uncomfortable because of that while I wouldn't want to?
I wish I didn't have to think about it

Well as a caribbeano, i don't think that you have anything to feel guilty about, just relax cuz you ave not done anything and i was never enslaved. The past is the past all we can do is learn from it.

I do like that you are racially aware but try to channel it into more positive aspects you'll be normal in no time.

Well its typical now. Blacks, hispanics, etc. Have made white people feel so guilty for what we have done in the past that we regret being white. Like we should all give them special treatment for what our ancestors did. Personally, when some black or hispanic person sais they hate white people becuase "we" as in our present day selves have stolen land from native americans or enslaved blacks and white people go "yeah, were sorry" i get pissed. White people shouldnt feel sorry for anything. Our present generation has not done any of those things, and making us feel guilty for that stuff will just breed racism.

Unfortunately, as history proceeds, the unforgivable things that white people had done to black people solely because of race or colour, have not been forgotten. Don't think about it, and talk to them as if they were a mate of yours (which they could be), and if they ask if you are treating them differently because of race or colour, say that you judge a person not by the colour of their skin but by the actions they make.

Unforgivable? It certainly is forgivable idiot because no white person today is PERSONALLY accountable for something that happened hundreds of years ago.

For a black person to cling to the argument of slavery or anything else for that matter to expect some kind of royal treatment from whites makes him a fool and a racist.

Blacks are not entitled to any better treatment due to something that happened hundreds of years ago, that's ridiculous, secondly I'm not going to feel guilty for anything i didn't personally do.

Finally, blacks enslaved people too, so once again that argument fails.

Actually, it is unforgivable. No one said anything about royal treatment, and if you ask me, its you white people that cling on to the idea of royal treatment from the past hundred years ago and have maintained your discriminating practices throughout the years as a result. "Blacks enslaved people to" is worth squat because they weren't enslaving people due to the color of their skin. Their version of slavery was nothing compared to what went on America. America committed a horrid crime against the people who came here and there was no justice. Saying it only happened "a hundred years ago" and to forget about it doesn't help, while we still experience racism to this day.

White people are still raping the Middle East and Africa. What's all this talk about these things happening hundreds of years ago? If you're not racist, great...stop all the killing around the world though.

    • White people are doing that because we are the superior race, far superior to the people in the Middle East and Africa thats for sure.

Africa is one of the richest continents in natural resources and almost every single country is still third world or worse. How long does it take to get your act together?

I don't know about superior...definitely more cunning and manipulative in the past (though it's changed a bit). I love African people...they are absolutely fantastic.

I don't have the time or the patience to explain macro-economics or history to a kid (an ignorant white American kid most probably lol), but my advice is to study a bit more.

        • I am more then proficient in both macro and micro economics thank you very much.

Africa needs to get its act together, but it wont, 100 yrs from now it will still be a third world continent.

Besides whites are superior anyway. Just look at Europe and its history. Its not my fault you cant accept it.

Whites are not superior at all. The whole notion of superiority was a brainwashing strategy to gather a people together against another and support each other in committing atrocities across the land. You say just look at Europe, but Europe has it's backdoor of atrocities too. They once pranced around, labeling themselves as "superior" to the Jews and as a result economically sanctioned and murdered millions of people.

Economic prosperity can only last but for a time. You only think yourselves superior because your people stole, murdered and committed horrible acts and atrocities across the land, hoarding whatever you gained amongst yourselves and then pretending like nothing happened after, but that only makes you a supporter of thievery and murder. While you people talk amongst yourselves with pride in belittling others and celebrate your false holidays in commemoration of the death tolls, you forget life doesn't work that way. Justice is inevitable for you and for me.

You ask everyone to look at history but when you really delve into the history books, you'll find several societies before ours, that flourished in bounty over the backs of other peoples unjustly - each of them are discussed in the texts of old, and each of them no longer exist today. Some people see their ruins as the only remaining remnants of their once prosperous existence, some people don't even know they existed. That's where all their riches, crimes against humanity and talks of "superiority" led them.

You can bask in whatever false pretenses you want to bask in, and walk your runway on the streets of the poor, but it's only for a time. That's the superior law.

            • This was 3 years ago. I submit exhibit A. European Civilization and culture vs. African Civilization and culture.

Vastly different. Your diatribe about history is silly.

            • Skin color and nationality has nothing to do with the discussion.

Everything I said is the truth no matter what color the skin of the person its coming from is.

Normally, in this generation, most non-African Americans were raised by racist parents. So, with or without you noticing, I'm sure some of that rubbed off on you. But really, once you get past the whole 'I hate you because you act like you're gonna bust a cap in my ass' You'll be fine.

I used to be some immature little neo-nazi, but that's only because it's what I'd grown up around. I'm now actually dating a black girl, and I must say.. She's better than any white girl I've ever dated. But, it's still normal to wish they'd get over the whole slave thing though. Seeing as blacks use it to their advantage everytime they find themselves in a jam. Once they subsides, we can finally start living without having to feel bad everytime we find ourselves around Blacks.

Seriously people,it wasn't you that was a slave, and it certainly wasn't me who put you to work. You're fighting something that you, personally, weren't even a part of. Stop trying to bring it back to life, and just let it die already, so we can all stop looking at you with guilt we shouldn't have in the first place.

    Thanks.

Well you are racist. . . If you even have to ask this question you must act differently when around black people or you would have had to ask. . . But the truth is just about every person in the world is racist in some way even if it isn't in a negative way. . . But the fact is while walking down the street you will see people like this. . . White male, black female, white female, black male. . . When really we should be seeing them as. . . . Human being, human being, human being.... its not a bad thing though if you think about it. . . And you should act differently around them. . . They do it to white people. . . . Damn nigs :)
