      Again, he was not sacrificed to appease a deity. He was sentenced to death, because the religious authorities were afraid of the fact that he was gaining followers, under the pretense of blasphemy.

          Quite traditionalIst Catholic mindset is the farthest from blasphemous that you can get, when it comes to Christian mindsets. All of the other ones disagree with the original teachings of the church.
