Did this years ago, more or less a nervous habit. Used to twist the back of my hair, which was about mid-neck length, around a pencil, pen, or anything straight that wouldn't break, make a knot, and yank out strands and chunks of my hair. Even used drill bits and silverware (neither would bend or break, and the knot was always tight) to yank it out.

It was just something I did..Then, the hot woman who cut my hair directly asked me..Are you pulling your hair out? It's thinner back here. She knew I, like all guys who went to her, looked at her body, and made me a deal: stop pulling out the back of my hair, and, next cut, she wouldn't wear the oversmock cover thing, and cut my hair in jeans and her usual, low-cut tank top "so you can look at me all you want".

I was doing it less anyway (it ran it's course), but that deal really made me focus on not pulling out my own hair. I wanted to look down Deb's tank top while she leaned over and cut my hair.

You need to try Amino Acid Therapy. It works! I am 39 and have worn a full wig since age 17. I started taking Neuro Replete and CysReplete about 3 months ago. I am at level two and it has completely worked.

Sounds like OCD you also might be under alot of stress but instead of pulling ur hair out u should find a better outlet like boxing (which is great) or working out...anything u like to do that relieves stress. Just try it if u really want to stop u will

This might be a form of OCD, and it's pretty common. It might be beyond self-control, but treatment is available.

      • Try a psychologist - a behaviour therapist. There must be a registry of psychologists in your area.
