Why don't you guys go to who ever is planning prom and ask if you could get a discount on the tickets and tell them your situation? That could help you?
because the teacher in charge of the planning in my h/s told me that last year they gave out 20 tickets for free b/c kids couldn't pay.
try that.
But she is crossing the line and you should tell her. Why doesn't she go with a girl friend instead of your friend? (if you end up not going)
