Professional painters trapped us in our house

They taped up all the doors and windows to paint, and oil-stained the decks which surround pretty much the entire house, we asked through a closed window if we could come out and they said no very assertively even though their english is limited, we have to wait a few days. The fumes are really strong and we all starting to get headaches I dunno should we just break out of the door and tell them they have to redo that part. Seems stupid that this happened.

  • It’s your home you have say. I’d instantly fire them and hire someone professional. That ain’t right. If anything they should of done it in sections and come tell you when they need to block off the door and leave another open to use. I absolutely love painting and don’t like people but I wouldn't imprisionate them to do it. That’s just to far. Especially if the fumes are very strong the whole situation is very unprofessional. Part of working is leaving clients satisfied. I’d swing the door open hold out the shotgun yell murica and deport them back to Mexico.

Yeah, it does seem pretty fricken' stupid for painters to not understand that the occupants of a building will want access while they do their work. Your painters don't sound very "professional" at all.

They don't have a legal right to keep you prisoner, so fuck 'em. If they need to repaint where you walk, tough shit. You do have a legal right to access your home freely.

You are required to stay there by law.

Seems like a poor lack of communication. The timeframe of how long you had to be out of the house should have been declared.

You were supposed to leave while the work was being done. Retard.
