Problems with some misanthropists

Some misanthropists seem to lack self-awareness of their own hypocrisy.

The two main gripes I hear from them are about humans being selfish and stupid.

Sometimes, misanthropists who complain about the selfishness of others are upset because other people are inconsiderate of them and their desires.

So what? Just go after what you want by yourself.

"Nobody cares about me, so I won't care about anyone else."

That logic is just perpetuating the circle of behaviors that those misanthropists complain about.

I actually do believe that all humans are stupid and selfish at least a little bit, of course, that includes me.

As much as I try to be open-minded and introspective, my perspective will always be flawed, and some hypocrisy is inevitable.

"All that I know is that I know nothing." - Socrates. I find that statement to be somewhat extreme, but he made a very honest point.

All that being said, I don't like humanity myself. If I could press a button to make the entire human race disappear forever, I'd likely press it.

However, I don't feel strong hatred towards us. Humans have made a lot of cool things like technology and art, but we're so incredibly flawed.

SUMMARY:

My main point here was to just call out the haughty misanthropists who act as if they're on a higher plane of existence and enlightenment than the rest of humanity, all the while succumbing to their own sinful human nature.

Some misanthropes are edgy cucklords, pretentious to the core.

I'm misanthropist that can see my own flaws and I hate so called misanthropists who act like they are the only ones who are perfect. When I say that humans are dumb as shit I mean all humans and to varying degrees.

  • I wonder why so many people voted this "not normal".

I think most who identify themselves as misanthropes are not real misanthropes. They put labels on themselves because they think it makes them cool.

Yeah, it's the type of attitude that hipstery types like to adopt to make it out like they're better then everybody else. Like people who go out of their way to do the opposite of everything normal people do so they can "not fit in" on purpose and then walk around like it's because they have some higher level of artsy-fartsyness about them

I think anyone who willingly identifies as a misanthrope is actually a narcissist that wants to feel special and is too arrogant to admit his very average, unremarkable narcissism.

      • Yep. My post was missing something. The kind of misanthropes that I'm annoyed with do talk like narcissists.

    • That seems edgy.
