Its like loving your family. Blood is thicker. If you are born in one area that is where you are from no matter what you do. You will be judged on where you from no matter where you go in the world.
An american can not go any other place in the world without having the stigma that they are American. Just like many Germans are sadly still judged for what Hitler did. Which is very unfair.
Are all Americans stupid no. Do all British have bad teeth no. Are all the french women hairy probobly not. I can also bet you they have some people from japan who are too tall, or some who are just not as smart as the other kids.
We however are forced to live with these stereotypes. When we go to other countries. So why not be proud of where we came from?
Are you saying we should bastardize our own country in hopes of being excepted by another? Well that just makes you wannabe. Something most people should not aim to be yet you probobly have inspired to do a few times am I right?
